April and Lara met in Austin, Texas and have been friends for over a decade. They love meeting up at each others houses to play games or watch shows and craft. They have joined their talents together in hope of providing quality hand made items for those interested.
Lara has been an avid knitter for thirteen years and is very gifted at detail-work/fine gauges, adjusting patterns, and particularly good at math to ensure a garment fits the dimensions of folks she’s making wearables for. She enjoys incorporating beadwork in her handknits- which adds a lot of beauty and texture to her work. Some of her favorite past projects include: a leaf hat, a stuffed Yoda figurine, and a blue and green leaf knitted blouse that features gorgeous color work (pictured below).
She started knitting in 2011 after having her second colicky child. Knitting helped her manage her stress after long days tending to young children. She first knitted baby blankets and has made one for all of her nieces/nephews, now totalling over twenty babies. She learned that she loved to knit and quickly started to branch out to making more complicated projects (sweaters, hats, socks, towels, mittens, & more!) She also learned that she could quickly increase her skills and loved how it helped to have visible progression in a project to show at the end of the day. One of her favorite things is finishing a project and seeing someone really enjoy it. She’s had many people ask her when she’ll open a shop of her very own and she’s pleased to be joining with a friend to create beautiful and heartfelt knitted items for their customers!
